A hot car engine is a serious threat to the performance of your favorite car. If the hot car engine continues to be forced to work, the engine may die completely and the car can no longer be started. The causes of engine overheating can vary, but of course, it can all happen because of the negligence of the car owner. Let's see what causes the car engine to heat up quickly in this article!

The main cause of the car engine overheating

    – Dry car radiator

The main function of radiator water in cars is to cool your car. If the engine starts to heat up most likely the cause is dry radiator water. Cars that are often exposed to sunlight are the reason why the liquid in the radiator water can evaporate. The liquid that evaporates can cause the radiator water to dry.

Immediately replace the radiator water to solve this problem. Replace every car that has covered a distance of 20 thousand km.

    – The radiator rubber cap is broken

The radiator water cap made of rubber serves to maintain the hot water pressure in the car's cooling system. If the rubber cap is damaged, it can interfere with the performance of the cooling system and eventually make the car engine hot.

Replace the rubber cap every 5 years to prevent the engine from overheating.

    – Radiator water is damaged or leaking

A damaged or leaking car radiator can occur due to a collision or lack of fluid when the car engine is hot. In addition, a damaged engine radiator can also be caused by the use of inappropriate fluids such as plain water or dirty water.

Change the car radiator fluid every 2 or 3 months.

    – The radiator fan is broken/not working

As the name implies, the fan, this component serves to keep the engine temperature in the car awake. If the radiator fan is damaged, the engine will heat up faster.

Take the car to a repair shop to have it serviced so the engine doesn't overheat. Usually, the main cause of a dead radiator fan is a damaged relay.
